The Solidar Network is bootstrapped. We haven't raised investor money, nor will be doing so. We have been developing for over an year, to bring the Solidar App and other necessary services to launch stage.

Moving forward, we will not be doing advertising, in order to ensure that our only obligation is to our users. Our primary source of income will be from a subscriber fee of about $8 USD per year. To just keep the lights on and then beyond that invest further into the development and maintenance of the Solidar Network and Solidarity Social, we need to quickly build up a large enough paying user base.

As detailed on the pricing page, we are running a promotion where we forgo some months of revenue from early adopters, in order to quickly build up a user base of 10,000 and make the service viable. Any donations to defray promotion expenses, are much appreciated.

Besides supporting the solidarity building mission, your donation will help realize the central promise of Bluesky - multiple stable ATPROTO network operators that users can choose as hosts of their repository (aka account). A robust selection of operators is what will ensure that operators don't head towards enshittification.

Specifically, we are looking for long term cloud operating cost support via donations in cash or cloud credits.
